At ClawAnalytics, we believe privacy isn't optional — it's foundational. This policy explains in plain English how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. We don't bury the details in legal jargon. If anything's unclear, just ask.

What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide our service:

  • Account information: Your email address and name from Clerk sign-in
  • Google Analytics data: Property IDs you connect, and the analytics data you explicitly query
  • OAuth tokens: Encrypted refresh tokens to access your Google Analytics (read-only)
  • Discord & Slack info: If you connect Discord or Slack, we store server/workspace ID and channel preferences
  • Usage data: Basic analytics about how you use ClawAnalytics (questions asked, platforms used)

We never access, modify, or delete your Google Analytics data. Our access is strictly read-only via the analytics.readonly scope.

Google OAuth Scope

When you connect Google Analytics, we use OAuth 2.0 with the following scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly

This is a read-only scope. It allows us to read your analytics data to answer your questions. It does not allow us to:

  • Modify any data in your Google Analytics
  • Access your other Google services (Gmail, Drive, etc.)
  • Change any settings or configurations

You can revoke our access anytime from your Google Account → Security → Third-party app access.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data for these purposes only:

  • Answer your questions: When you ask "How is traffic today?", we query Google Analytics and return the answer
  • AI processing: Your questions are sent to our LLM (Google Gemini) to translate natural language into analytics queries
  • Account management: To manage your subscription, send important notices, and provide support
  • Improvements: Anonymous, aggregated usage data helps us understand how people use ClawAnalytics

Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure

ClawAnalytics' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we commit to the following:

  • • We only use Google Analytics data to provide and improve ClawAnalytics features directly for you
  • • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties unless necessary to provide or improve the service, you provide explicit consent, or it is required for security or legal compliance
  • • We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements
  • • We do not use or transfer Google user data to develop, train, or improve generalized AI or machine learning models
  • • Your analytics queries are processed through Google's own Gemini API (paid tier), which contractually does not use API inputs for model training per Google's Gemini API Terms
  • • We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless with your explicit affirmative consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or for limited internal operations when the data has been aggregated and anonymized

Who We Share, Transfer, or Disclose Google User Data To

We share your Google user data only with the following third-party services, and only as necessary to provide the ClawAnalytics service:

Google Gemini API (paid) Your natural language question + GA4 property metadata (metric/dimension names) Translate your question into a GA4 API query. Does not train on data per Google's paid API terms.
Google Analytics Data API OAuth token, property ID, query parameters Fetch the analytics report data you requested

Important: Raw Google Analytics report data (the numbers, metrics, and dimensions returned by the GA4 API) is not sent to any AI model. Only your natural language question and property metadata are processed by Google Gemini to construct the query. The actual analytics results are formatted and returned directly to you.

We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted providers to power ClawAnalytics:

Clerk

Handles authentication (sign in with email, Google, Apple). We receive your email and name only.

Google Analytics & OAuth

Provides the analytics data you query. We use OAuth for secure, read-only access.

Google Gemini

Processes your natural language questions and translates them into analytics queries. We use the paid Gemini API, which does not use your data for model training per Google's API terms.

Discord

Optional integration. If you connect your Discord server, we store server ID and channel preferences to send analytics responses.

Slack

Optional integration. If you connect your Slack workspace, we store workspace ID and channel preferences to send analytics responses.

Stripe

Handles subscription billing and payments. We never store your full credit card details — Stripe manages all payment information securely.

BullMQ / Redis

Handles background job processing (queuing analytics queries). No personal data stored here.

PostgreSQL

Our primary database for storing user accounts, settings, and encrypted tokens.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted infrastructure:

  • Encryption at rest: All sensitive data (OAuth tokens) is encrypted
  • Encryption in transit: All connections use TLS/SSL
  • Hosted on secure cloud: We use reputable cloud providers with enterprise-grade security

Data Retention

How long we keep your data:

  • Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, we remove all personal data within 30 days
  • OAuth tokens: Stored securely until you disconnect Google Analytics or delete your account
  • Chat history: Your conversations are stored to provide conversation history in your dashboard. Messages are retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
